A unique opportunity to spend a weekend in a Sussex wood connecting deeply with the spiritual traditions of the land. Each day will consist of a morning and evening fire ceremony bringing together Storytelling, Celtic folklore , Herbs and Fire-lighting followed by a deep Meditation session. During the day you will learn to a craft, identify and harvest wild foods and cook over an open fire.
This unique course will give you an experience of stepping out of a modern life to learn , connect and be inspired by nature's beauty.
All meals and camping provided, you will need to bring your own tent or tarp. The woodland is based near Eastbourne, East Sussex.

Instructors for the Woodland Bard Retreat
Jonathon Huet (founder of WalkwithTrees) is a woodsman, naturalist and bushcraft instructor. He has extensive experience of running outdoor courses with a range of people for a variety of reasons. From those with learning difficulties who may wish to improve confidence and attention, to those simply wishing to learn a new skill or strengthen a team.
Jonathon is a dynamic, creative, professional storyteller and speaker who has had teacher training in Bushcraft, and holds qualifications in Woodcraft and Expedition Leadership. Over the last 25 years he has researched and studied the folklore of the natural world of the British Isles running many workshops exploring the deep spiritual practices of the Indigenous culture of Britain. Jonathon works with many organsations, councils, and centres including the Sustainability Centre, Butser Ancient Farm and the Wetlands Trust. He has also worked with Motiv8, many schools and was short listed for the Business Ambassador of the year award by the EBP
( Education Business Partnership) for the work he has done with secondary school students.

Mark Lloyd is a woodsman, Bushcraft instructor, and Forest school trainer/facilitator. His background is mostly in conservation and youth work. He has enjoyed the natural world for many years and loves to spend any spare time he has in the woods.

He has been working in the outdoors for around 15 years and has qualifications in Bushcraft, Forest School training, Woodcraft and Expedition Leadership.

Alison Martin- Lloyd looks after West Wartling woods with Mark where we hold our Celtic Fire Retreats. She has facilitated several Wiccan Sabbat Ceremonies over the years and also has co-delivered a Council of All Beings workshop in the woods. Her plan is to host/facilitate her own women's groups in the woods in the near future. Alison is also a trained Metamorphic Technique practitioner .
